Who is responsible
dotnow.store is run by Kiran Sugathan, the data controller for this site. Contact: hello@dotnow.store.
What is collected
When you send a Buy now request or an offer, the site stores:
- your name, email address, and optionally your company and message;
- the name you asked about, the request type and any offer amount;
- where your visit came from: tracking tags in the link you followed (such as ref, utm or p), the referring website, and the first page you landed on;
- a one-way, salted code made from your IP address (the address itself is not stored; the salt changes every month) and your browser's user-agent text, to limit spam;
- a private note of where the conversation stands, for example whether a reply has been sent.
You don't have to send anything. Only your name and email address are needed to reply to you.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets two essential cookies: a session cookie and a security token that protects the forms. They last two hours and are not used for tracking or advertising. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits; it does not use cookies or track you across sites.
Why it is used
- To reply to your request and, if you go ahead, to set up and complete the sale. Legal basis: steps you ask for before entering a contract.
- To stop spam and abuse of the form, and to understand which links bring visitors. Legal basis: a legitimate interest in running the site securely and knowing what works. You can object at any time by email.
Your details are never used for marketing and never sold. No automated decisions are made about you.
Who receives it
- The site’s hosting and network providers (Hostinger, Cloudflare), which store and deliver the site and carry its emails to you.
- Escrow.com, if you go ahead with a purchase, so it can set up the payment. From then on, Escrow.com handles your details under its own privacy policy.
Cloudflare and Escrow.com are based in the United States. Where your details leave the UK or the EU, this is covered by the providers' data-protection terms, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
Request details, including the copies in the mailbox, are deleted 12 months after the last contact with you, unless a sale is still in progress. The application’s own logs are kept for 14 days and contain no names or email addresses. The host keeps standard web-server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period for security.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, to receive a copy of them, to restrict how they are used, or to object to their use, by emailing hello@dotnow.store. You get a reply within one month. If you are in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
